Deeping remain unbeaten in 2015
Deeping Rangers extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 2-2 draw away at Wellingborough Town on Saturday in the UCL Premier Division.
These two sides shared the spoils as they had done in the earlier meeting at the Haydon Whitham Stadium but it could have been so much better for Deeping who came back from a goal down to take the lead before conceding late in the day.
A 40th-minute Tom Smith own-goal put the Doughboys ahead but they were pegged back by a Dan Flack equaliser in the final minute of the first half.
Jezz Goldson-Williams gave Deeping the lead after 67 minutes and Jamie Graham missed a couple of good chances to extend Rangers’ advantage.
Those misses proved costly when the Doughboys’ top marksman Jake Newman levelled ten minutes from the end.
Deeping – who dropped to eighth place after Saturday’s results – are back home tonight (Tuesday) against Boston Town in a match rearranged from the festive period.
The Poachers have let in nine goals in their last two away games while Deeping are now unbeaten in six matches.
Striker Adam Scotcher and defender Spencer Tinkler are both serving three-match suspensions following red cards.
Jezz Goldson-william said on Twitter: “Twenty goals in my first season in UCLfootball but disappointed with the draw today we go again Tuesday #teamclaret”
