Lucas and Oliver Smith of Bourne Judo Club claims medals at the British Judo Council Closed National Championships in Kettering
Two brothers from Bourne Judo Club have continued to distinguish themselves in major championships.
After bringing home medals from Kettering in May and Leicester in September, Lucas and Oliver Smith stood on the podium during the British Judo Council Closed National Championships in Kettering.
Lucas and Oliver both collected bronze medals after fighting the way through tough opposition from all over the country.
There was 303 participants gathered on the day at the Kettering Sports Arena and Lucas fought in 66-73kg weight category.
Oliver was fighting in 60-66kg weight category and, after previously winning a silver medal in the Open Championships in May, was slightly disappointed.
His new year resolution is to train even harder and gain some more weight for championships in February in order to become a stronger competitor in his weight category.
Lucas and Oliver train at Bourne Judo Club which is affiliated with the British Judo Council.
Trainings for both children and adults take place every Wednesday at the Darby and Joan Hall in Bourne. Further information is available at the club’s Facebook page.
