Deepings Swimming Club and City of Peterborough join forces for competition.

Two swimming clubs joined forces to hold a competition which produced some great racing and created a fantastic atmosphere.

City of Peterborough hosted their Summer Meet at the Manor Leisure Centre in Whittlesey and allowed Deepings to run their Club Championships within the races.

This meant that for Deepings swimmers there was double the amount of medals up for grabs.

It was a huge success with the opportunity to become club champion and win medals for first to third in each group in each event.

Aside from the Club Championships, Deepings swimmers were also highly successful in the COPS event as well and produced a fantastic 80 individual personal bests and 24 county qualifying times (CQTs) between them.

A number of swimmers were able to achieve multiple CQTs during the meet and the star performer was Olivia King (12yrs girls) with four.

Oliver Clarke (11yrs boys), James Cash (14yrs boys), Lucy Jenkinson (12yrs girls) achieved two and Isabella Reynolds (14yrs girls) and Evie Davies (11yrs girls) both managed one.

In the COPS Summer Meet, despite tough competition from large home squad, City of Ely, March Marlins and a number of swimmers from far and wide including Manchester and Burnley, Deepings swimmers once again excelled.
