Stamford AFC face Rotherham United and King’s Lynn in their next matches
Stamford are set to face their second successive Football League test in a double-header of action for the Daniels this weekend.
Graham Drury's side host League One visitors Rotherham United tonight (Friday) before entertaining National League North outfit King's Lynn on Saturday.
With a 25-man squad at his disposal, the Stamford manager plans to split his players between the two matches as they increase their game-time ahead of the Southern League Premier Division Central campaign.
The match against the Millers - who are managed by ex-Stamford boss Steve Evans - will be the Daniels' fourth outing of pre-season.
They were 1-0 away winners at Harrowby United last midweek before playing out a goalless draw at Lincoln United on Saturday.
Stamford then hosted League Two side Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night in a 120-minute match which saw their visitors run out 4-0 winners.
The Daniels had started brightly against a Rovers side who finished in the League Two play-off places last season.
Harry Vince saw an early pile-driver superbly tipped to safety by Doncaster goalkeeper Ian Lawlor in the opening exchanges.
A speculative overhead kick from James Blunden went just wide of the visiting goal before a typically marauding run and shot from Rob Morgan was blocked by the Doncaster defence.
Rovers then responded to Stamford's bright start by taking the lead after 15 minutes.
George Miller picked out Luke Molyneux out wide and his cross was headed home by former Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp.
Home goalkeeper Will Lakin was then called into action to cling onto a shot from Molyneux before before Joe Sbarra sent an effort over the home crossbar.
Stamford continued to pose a threat and Jack Duffy dragged a shot wide of the far post while Morgan saw another effort go agonisingly past the upright.
Lakin made a fine save to keep out a powerful drive from Sbarra before Stamford again went close in the middle period of the game with an effort which struck the post.
Jordan Gibson then rattled the home upright after a strong surge into the area before being denied by the post again moments later with a shot from distance.
Doncaster added their third goal in the 82nd minute as Kyle Hurst burst forward before driving into the penalty area and slotting his finish into the bottom corner of the Stamford net.
A third goal for the visitors followed six minutes later when Joe Ironside found Gibson and he turned smartly before driving his finish past Tom Jackson in the Stamford goal.
Doncaster continued to create chances with James Maxwell heading wide and Hurst shooting narrowly over from distance.
They completed the scoring with a fourth goal with 10 minutes of the match remaining as Hurst got to the byline before drawing the ball back for Gibson to finish ahead of Owen Bailey.
Jackson denied the visitors a fifth goal with a fine save from Ironside's fierce drive in Rovers' final attack of the home goal.
The match proved a useful work-out for both sides with Rovers boss Grant McCann full of praise for their hosts.
The former Peterborough United manager - who still lives in the area - said: "It's great for me to be able to give a little back to the local community.
"I think the boys were pleasantly surfaced by the facilities at Stamford. It's a fantastic place which is a credit to them and hopefully they will have a really good season."
Friday night's match against Rotherham kicks-off at 7.30pm with the Millers set to split their squad across two games as they travel to Stamford's new league rivals Spalding United on Saturday.
Stamford's match on Saturday against King's Lynn was see the return of prolific striker Jonny Margetts to the Zeeco Stadium.
Margetts left the Daniels at the start of last season after a goal-laden spell with the club to join Matlock before landing his move to the higher level Linnets.
