Stamford AFC host Frickley Athletic at the Zeeco Stadium in the BetVictor Northern Premier League South East Division
Manager Graham Drury is relishing the challenge his free-scoring Stamford side will face on Saturday when they host the BetVictor Northern Premier League South East Division’s form team.
The Daniels entertain a Frickley Athletic side who will arrive at the Zeeco Stadium on the back of a three-match winning league run.
Stamford have scored 10 goals in their last two games while Frickley have kept clean sheets in their last three league wins after being rejuvenated following the appointment of former Daniels player and assistant boss Dave Frecklington as their new manager.
Frecklington was assistant to Simon Clark during his time at the Daniels helm in 2011 and also played under Drury during their Southern League Eastern Division play-off winning campaign in 2005/06.
His arrival at the Yorkside club has seen them bolster their playing ranks by signing former Lincoln City, Scunthorpe United and Tranmere Rovers striker Jonny Margetts.
Ex-Boston United defender Brad McGowan has been joined by Pilgrims loanee frontman Tom Clare while Tom Davie has joined from Gainsborough Trinity.
Exciting winger Tyler Williams has also recently rejoined Frickley who still have the services of prolific striker Jacob Hazel.
Boss Drury commented: “Frickley are going really well. It’s above average to be recording 2.5-points per game so they’re certainly in good form at the moment.
“They’ve brought some top players in who have played in the National League North so they’re putting a really good side together.
“They are another club who will be looking at the play-offs which is what you expect from Frickley.
“It’s got the makings of a really good game as we’ll both be looking to go for the win.
“We’re looking forward to every game at the moment especially after producing our last two performances.
“We need to keep that consistency in our game and keep ticking them off.”
Stamford – who go into the match in sixth place in the league - will be without the suspended Jack Keeble but Mike Armstrong is moving closer to a return after a spell out injured. Assistant manager Paul Holden has left the Daniels due to work commitments.
