Oakham United are back on top of the PDFL Premier Division following a 5-0 win at Langtoft United on Saturday.

Newboy Lewis Leckie scored four of Oakham’s goals in the emphatic victory.

Oliver McCann was the other Oakham goal-scorer in a victory which will send shock-wave through the league as their opponents as no soft targets.

Oakham needed a three-goal margin of victory to return to the top as previous leaders Coates Athletic were without a fixture.

They are now tied on points with their main rivals for top spot but still have a game in hand.

Netherton United are moving menacingly towards the top two as they saw off lowly Crowland 4-1. The Peterborough side are rightly proud of their youth policy, but old-timers, and manager and assistant manager, Jon Harrison (2) and Ronnie Fortune were among their scorers this weekend. Fortune scored with a rocket shot from 45 yards.

Fourth-placed Stilton gained quick revenge for their PFA Senior Cuo drubbing at ICA Sports on January 3 by inflicting a first defeat on recently-appointed ICA manager Hamish Curtis. Karl Gibbs and James Nespoli scored the Stilton goals in a 2-0 win.

At the other end of the division Uppingham played out a 0-0 draw away at Deeping Rangers Reserves.
