South Lincs and Border League cricket round-up
Dan Hughes has racked up an amazing set of batting statistics to help power Ketton Sports to the South Lincs and Border League Division One title.
Hughes struck an unbeaten 146 as his team beat Orton Park by 61 runs to seal top spot with a game to go.
He has now scored 960 runs in 11 innings at an average of more than 137. Hughes has hit five tons on a Saturday with a top score of 163 not out.
His innings on Saturday helped Ketton post 270-6 from their 45 overs with Adam Renton making 33.
Orton Park were bowled out for 209 in reply as Mat Bird took four wickets with Marcus McDevitt claiming 3-24 from his 8.1 overs.
Market Deeping 2nds were two-wicket winners as Heckington in the same division after dismissing their hosts for 160.
Burghley Park were already guaranteed the Championship title after the wash-out of games the previous weekend.
The newly-crowned champions were 50-run winners over Freiston in Saturday's match where Josh Weller made 57 with Ryan Gilmour unbeaten on 55 before a late flurry of 34 from Alex Ashwin helped Park post 272-9.
Harry Armstrong then returned 3-41 from his nine overs as Freiston were bowled out for 222 in reply.
Calum Fawcett was in fine form for Bourne 2nds as he took six wickets in their 129-run Championship win over Sleaford 2nds at the Abbey Lawn.
Fawcett finished his 8.4 overs with 6-17 as Sleaford were bowled out for 137 in pursuit of Bourne's 266.
Openers Ben Woodward (58) and Tom Patchett (64) laid the foundations before Adam Binns added 61.
Billingborough boosted their hopes of escaping the bottom two after a six-wicket home success against Grantham 2nds.
Aaron Pullum produced a superb 5.1 over spell of 5-14 as Grantham were dismissed for 142 before an unbeaten 67 from opener Dylan Garfoot led Billingborough to victory.
Grantham reversed the fortunes in the second team clash between the clubs in Division Two with a narrow one-run win.
Stuart Gollop had returned 4-20 from his eight overs as Grantham were bowled out for 187 but Billingborough fell agonisingly short after losing their final wicket on the last ball of the game when Callum Scott was run out. Opener Barriey Light had earlier made 52.
Ketton Sports 2nds are close to clinching second spot in Division Three after a seven-wicket away win at table-topping Royal Boston 2nds.
They dismissed the leaders for 83 with Dylan Criddle claiming 3-12 from eight overs while Nick Kennett took 2-10 off four with Matthew Bradshaw returning 2-12 in his seven-over spell.
Adam Warren then hit an unbeaten 39 as Sports secured the win inside 24 overs.
They hold a 17-point advantage over third-placed Uffington who have a game in hand. They were awarded the win on Saturday after Spalding 3rds conceded their clash.
Uffington play Orton Park 3rds in their penultimate game on Saturday before travelling to Ketton for their last match on September 14.
