Josh Hull earns his first England Lions call-up
Stamford School alumnus Josh Hull has received his first senior call up for the England Lions.
The 19-year-old is playing in the four-day match against Sri Lanka held at the Worcestershire County Cricket Club which began yesterday.
Still in his early career, Hull has already advanced through Leicestershire’s academy and graduated into their first team in 2022.
The left arm seamer proved crucial in their One Day Cup final in 2023 when they triumphed over Hampshire after he held them to two runs where five were needed.
Hull also made his debut in The Hundred last month after being drafted by the Manchester Originals in March.
On the first day of the Sri Lanka tour of England the Lions elected to field first and had taken the lead going into day two by six runs.
The Huntingdon cricketer took three wickets in his first day in England colours and will continue to play in the tournament until it closes on Saturday (August 17).
