Thriving girls section at Deeping United Football Club
Lily Mitson hit a hat-trick and Matilda Knowles scored her first-ever goal as Deeping United Under 12s secured victory in the Lincolnshire Women and Girls League on Saturday.
Their goals helped defeat One Touch Football 4-2 as United recorded their first win of the South Division season.
They had earlier lost 2-0 at Ropsley Colts before sharing the spoils in a high-scoring 5-5 draw with Barrowby.
In Saturday's match, the girls not only played with skill but also with a deep sense of sportsmanship as, with the Football Association's Play Safe campaign in full swing, both teams demonstrated the values of teamwork and dedication.
Knowles was named the player of the match for her sheer determination and persistence in achieving her first goal.
Nancy Willoughby earned the title of improver of the week for her exceptional performance, applying what she's learned in training, particularly her goalkeeping skills.
The girls section at the club is going from strength-to-strength with the Under 9s enjoying their first season at seven-a-side and showing some very impressive skills on the pitch.
The Under 10 girls are as equally impressive with a few attending Peterborough United Girls' Elite programme.
Their coach Steve Williams always likes to push his girls to improve and offer more challenges to enhance what they have already learned, whether its developing new skills or encouraging the girls to also play mixed football.
The Under 13 girls were 8-1 winners in the Lincolnshire League against Crowland.
Ellie Moore scored a hat-trick while Isla Cummins struck twice with Ezmae Clark, Millie Fraser and Bridin O'Boyle also on target in their third win of the season from four outings.
The girls currently sit third in the table but more importantly they are great friends on and off the pitch and manager Steve George couldn't be any prouder of his team.
The Under 14s were 5-2 winners against Stanground with the team putting in a massive effort to secure a win in their League Cup game.
Eva Fraser led the scoring with a hat-trick while Isla Tracey struck twice and their coach Alex Griffin was so proud of their performance.
