Stamford-born gymnast Lottie Smith returns with a bronze medal from the Northern European Championships in Ireland

A Stamford-born gymnast has returned with a bronze medal from the Northern European Championships.

Lottie Smith, who trains at Corby Gymnastics Academy, was representing Scotland at the event in Dublin, Ireland.

She competed on all four apparatus alongside four of her Scottish team-mates and finished an incredible seventh individually.

She also qualified for the floor final on day two of the event where the top eight gymnasts on this apparatus competed again for individual honours.

After a great performance, Lottie finished in third place behind gymnasts from Iceland and Ireland to pick up the bronze medal.
