That man Lewis Leckie was on the mark for Oakham United again on Saturday to score the only goal in a vital win to keep them at the top of the PDFL Premier Division.

Oakham won 1-0 away at Pinchbeck but they continued to be chased all the way by Coates Athletic who got the better of Langtoft United 2-0.

Goals for Danny Dance and Rikki Wilmer enabled Coates to overcome the loss of Jamie Darlow to a red card and continued the Vikings’ recent difficult run of results.

Oakham remain top on goal difference.

Third-placed Netherton’s scheduled game at Uppingham Town was postponed, but Peterborough ICA Sports slipped away from the chasing pack at the top of the league when they lost for the second Saturday in a row. ICA were 2-0 up early on against Deeping Rangers Reserves, but went down 5-3.

Connor Pilbeam hit a hat-trick for Rangers and Sam Thompson a brace.
