Oakham United lost their spot at the top of the PDFL Premier Division on Saturday after going down 2-0 at home to Moulton Harrox.

Coates Athletic moved back to the summit even though their scheduled match at Deeping Rangers Reserves was called off.

Two goals from Moulton’s Ian Bradbury was enough to give Coates top spot on goal difference.

In fact it turned into the perfect day for Andy Lodge’s all-stars as third-placed Netherton and fourth-placed Stilton United were also beaten.

Netherton lost their city derby 3-2 to Peterborough ICA Sports at The Grange. The visitors, who might have been helped by some inflammatory pre-match comments by Netherton boss Jon Harrison, enjoyed a superb start as Andrew Cook scored twice in the opening 22 minutes.

Harrison pulled a goal back for Netherton before the break, but a third ICA goal for Liam Gallagher made Stephen Mastin’s last-gasp strike for the home side an irrelevance.

Stilton were surprisingly beaten at home by lowly Uppingham.

The visitors won 3-2 with Jordan Neil scoring twice. Garry Beaver and Liam Rodden scored for Stilton, but Jason Cook was sent off.

Elsewhere Langtoft United snapped their five game losing run with victory at Crowland Town.

The Vikings won 3-2 thanks to two goals from Jobi Froud and a strike from Daniel Evans.

Moulton scored through James Ellwood and substitute Steven Teddy-Paling.
