Stacey Freeman who has appeared in E4 reality TV show Shipwrecked has signed for Stamford AFC
Reality television star Stacey Freeman has signed for the Daniels.
The male model - who appeared in the E4 show Shipwrecked - has been playing for Stamford during pre-season after recently moving to the area.
The former Lewes and Whitehawk defender has now agreed terms for the Northern Premier League Midlands Division club.
Freeman - whose dad Darren played professionally for Brighton - has impressed Stamford manager Graham Drury with his performances since joining the club.
Drury said: "Stacey has done well and has looked strong. He puts his head in where it hurts and is a threat from set-plays.
"He's a good communicator as well. He's got Conference experience as a centre-half and I've done my due diligence on him.
"He's played at a good level and he's a good character who has mixed in great with the boys and I think he will be a real strong addition to the club.
"I am really pleased to get the signing over the line because he had a few other clubs sniffing after him, but he's enjoyed what he's seen here which is good."
Stamford - who defeated League Two side Northampton Town on Saturday in a pre-season friendly - are next in action on Tuesday night when they host United Counties League side Anstey Nomads (kick-off 7.30pm).
Boss Drury added: "I'm hoping that after playing Peterborough and then Northampton that our next games are more possession based for us.
"We should be imposing ourselves with the ball and not have to work behind it as much but it is still important that we keep those good habits and keep doing the right things."
