Round-up of Saturday's action as Stamford AFC go top of the Northern Premier League Midlands Division table

Stamford took top spot in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division table after a 3-1 away win at St Neots on Saturday.

They moved two points clear of previous leaders Halesowen after the Yeltz suffered a 3-2 away reversal at Coleshill.

Stamford's success was their fourth consecutive league victory and means Graham Drury's side have won nine of their last 10 matches.

An own goal from St Neots goalkeeper Jamie Greygoose after 27 minutes gave Stamford the advantage at the Premier Plus Stadium.

Joe Burgess doubled the lead after 58 minutes and, although it was cut by a Trey Charles down for the visitors shortly after, Connor Bartle secured the win with Stamford's third of the afternoon.

The victory sets up a tantalising table-topping tussle with second-placed Halesowen who visit the Zeeco Stadium on Saturday.

Blackstones saw a last minute penalty saved as they exited the FA Vase after a narrow 2-1 away loss at Newark & Sherwood.

Home goalkeeper Ross Woolley saved the 90th minute spot kick from Mark Baines to send Stones to defeat in the second round tie.

Ainsley Finney had given the Highwaymen a sixth minute lead which was cancelled out by Kieran Duffy-Weekes' equaliser for Blackstones.

Kieran Cummings put the United Counties League Premier Division North side back in front five minutes into the second half which proved to be the winning goal.

Bourne Town recorded a seventh successive win in Division One of the United Counties League after a 4-0 home victory over Holwell Sports.

Jake Brown scored twice for the Wakes with James Hill-Seekings and Jake Sansby also on target.

Deeping Rangers have taken 10 points from their last four games in the Premier Division North after a 1-1 away draw at Selston.

Toby Hilliard - who is dual registered with Spalding United - marked his first Deeping appearance with a goal on his Clarets debut.
