Stamford AFC will face Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Trophy after victory over Kidsgrove Athletic




Stamford have secured a home FA Trophy tie with National League North side Kidderminster Harriers after defeating league rivals Kidsgrove Athletic on Saturday.

The Daniels will host the former Football League side on Tuesday night in the second round clash at the Zeeco Stadium following's Saturday's 2-0 away success.

Top scorer Tom Siddons and Harry Vince netted the vital goals against their Northern Premier League South East Division hosts.

Siddons struck Stamford into the lead with nine minutes of the first half remaining at the Autonet Insurance Stadium.

Vince, a half-time replacement for Tendai Chitiza, then sealed Stamford's success with eight minutes left after firing home a rebound following a couple of smart saves from home goalkeeper Kieran Harrison.

The hosts had played the final 20 minutes of the contest with 10 men after Josh Thorpe was sent off having been cautioned in the first period.

Stamford also saw unused substitute Sean Wright red-carded after an altercation with a home player who was also on the sidelines.

The first round proper clash saw Stamford hand a debut to young goalkeeper Max Peverell who kept a clean sheet on his first team bow against a Kidsgrove side who had a 100 per cent home record in league matches so far this season.
