Blackstones beat Eynesbury Rovers in the Hinchingbrooke Cup

Blackstones have set up a derby date at Deeping Rangers in the quarter-final of the Hinchingbrooke Cup after claiming a higher level scalp on Wednesday night.

Stones beat United Counties League Premier Division South side Eynesbury Rovers 5-1 after an impressive display at the Torney Limited Stadium.

They fell behind in the opening couple of minutes when Joe Worboys gave the visitors an early advantage.

However, Stones were back level by the 15-minute mark as a corner was played into the path of Kieran Duffy-Weekes who drove home a shot from the edge of the box.

Duffy-Weekes then put Stones ahead from the penalty spot just past the half-hour before two goals late in the first half put the hosts in control.

An own goal following a cross made it 3-1 before Hayden Armiger fired home the fourth goal with a sweet strike from the edge of the box.

The victory was then sealed on the hour mark as a fine through ball from Jordan Neil released Joe Graham who netted for the third successive game.

Graham had grabbed a late equaliser at the weekend to earn Stones a point from their Division One trip to Lutterworth Athletic.

After a goalless opening period, they had fallen behind on the hour mark but had levelled within 12 minutes through Hayden Armiger.

Lutterworth regained the lead with 10 minutes remaining but Graham netted a second equaliser late on to earn a share of the spoils.

The point moved Stones up into fourth place ahead of Saturday's home match with Selston.
