William Strangeway of Lincoln Wellington wins Stamford Striders' St Valentine's 30k race
William Strangeway retained his St Valentine's 30k crown with victory in the Stamford Striders staged event on Sunday.
Strangeway had won the last race in 2019 and repeated the feat with the Lincoln Wellington runner returning a time of 1.38.58 which was nearly three minutes quicker than his last success.
David Hudson, of Huntingdonshire AC, ensured it was a one-two repeat of 2020 by taking second spot in 1.43.59.
Ben Heron was third in 1.46.32 while Luke Harrison was the first runner home for the Stamford Striders in eighth place with a time of 1.49.34.
Aaron Scott - a multiple winner of the race - took sixth spot after completing the 18-mile course in 1.49.06.
Jonathan Palmer and Sarah Chynoweth took the honours in the pairs race ahead of Gemma Hillier-Moses and Lewis Moses while Ben and Amy Gamble were third.
