Deeping Rangers beat Pinchbeck United in the United Counties League Premier Division North

Ten-man Deeping Rangers made it back-to-back wins in the United Counties League Premier Division North on Wednesday night, winning 2-0 at Pinchbeck.

Will Bird was on target for the third successive game after Jack Withers had given Rangers an early advantage against Pinchbeck at the Sir Halley Stewart Field.

Rangers had Spencer Tinkler sent-off late in the first half – but it didn’t stop them from delivering a commanding performance against the Knights.

Elliott Foster fired an early effort over the woodwork for Pinchbeck and former Knight Aaron Eyett tried his luck from long-range for the visitors during a lively opening from both sides.

Deeping took the lead after a long ball into the home penalty area was headed home by Withers in the ninth minute.

Good defending from Rangers denied Foster a clear sight of goal as the Knights looked for a way back into the contest.

They were given hope when Tinkler was given his marching orders for a hefty challenge on Mackenzie Burdass in the middle of the park.

Despite having a man less for the second 45 minutes, Deeping never looked like relinquishing their lead.

Rangers doubled their lead 23 minutes after the restart when Bird tapped home a second goal to give the visitors some breathing space.

The damage could have been even worse for the home side after Bird flashed a driven centre across the face of the Pinchbeck goal late on.

The three points see Rangers remain 12th in the Premier Division North standings with 33 points ahead of Saturday’s home game against Newark & Sherwood United.
