Deeping Rangers host Heanor Town in the United Counties League Premier Division North

Manager Brett Whaley doesn't want a magnificent midweek win to become a one-off for his Deeping Rangers side.

The Clarets eased their relegation fears by moving out of the bottom two in the United Counties League Premier Division North with a 1-0 home success over play-off chasing Melton Town.

The victory ensured Rangers bounced back from their 3-0 away loss at Belper United at the weekend.

Deeping are now unbeaten in their last four home games with Whaley wanting that run to continue when they host Heanor Town on Saturday.

He said: "The important thing now for us is that the performance on Tuesday night doesn't become a one-off.

"We've won three games out of the last four now so we need to make sure that last Saturday was a one-off.

"That has to be freak result and Tuesday night has to be the standard which we set."

Whaley was also full of praise for the home support who helped back Rangers to victory courtesy of a second half goal from Luke Hunnings.

He added: "We haven't lost in the last four league games at home and the support has been great.

"The young lads make a lot of noise to help create an atmosphere which helps us maintain this run at home.

"We've got some big games out of the way but we've got some huge games coming up and the support helps.

"When you're in a difficult spell and you're not getting anywhere, they push us on.

"For the supporters who travel home and away, we have put in some poor performances so they need nights like Tuesday.

"It was brilliant and I'm sure they enjoyed it. It was a great atmosphere and a great win but, for us, we're not getting carried away.

"We have to do the same on Saturday and put that level in. Hopefully the crowd will bring the noise again and we continue that form at home."

Bourne Town were also midweek winners as they recorded a ninth successive victory in all competitions after a 1-0 home success over Boston Town.

It moved the Wakes up into second spot in the United Counties League Premier Division North table.

However, they take a break from league action on Saturday to play their rearranged FA Vase tie with Premier Division South side ON Chenecks following last weekend's postponement.

Manager Michael Goode said: "It will be a really tough game.

"They've had a couple of results recently that they won't have wanted so it's a 50-50 match and we've got to turn up for it."

Goalkeeper Dan Swan will return to the Bourne squad after missing the midweek win where former Blackstones goalkeeper Simon Dalton kept a clean sheet on his Wakes debut.

Blackstones travel to Selston in Division One on Saturday.
