Ten Tonnes album review: George Ezra's younger brother follows in his footsteps

This is the debut from Ethan Barnett, who goes by the stage name Ten Tonnes - and is the brother to George Ezra!

It's a chirpy pop/rock album and its lead single ‘Better Than Me’ made an impression on Radio 1's Annie Mac with the DJ championing the track.

The album took me a little time to warm to, but the more I listened to it, the more I enjoyed it.

First track, Lucy, while exploring 'the highs, the lows and the in-betweens of love and relationships' was a catchy opening song.

Next track 'G.I.V.E' sees the artist singing about a lost love and regret and pretty much chanting the lyrics: "You can G.I.V.E, give all your love back to me; if that's what you want."

Track four 'Counting Down' was another catchy tune with Ethan singing in falsetto in places and literally 'counting down the minutes until he sees you again.'

I also liked track six 'Nights In, Nights Out', where he sings about breaking routine and the need for some space and time alone. This track was co-written with former Kaiser Chief Nick Hodgson. Here, he also breaks into falsetto in the chorus.

Overall, it's a good first album.
