ALBUM REVIEW: The Vegabonds - V
Out February on Blue Elan Records:
I'm not normally a fan of country 'southern rock' but I actually enjoyed this album.
It kicked off with the uplifting, lively 'Partyin' With Strangers' that made me want to grab a stetson and dance. (Well, maybe not literally!)
The Vegabonds started out in 2009, playing the college circuit across the Southeastern United States, including frat parties and clubs.
They consist of lead vocalist and songwriter Daniel Allen; Richard Forehand on lead guitar and vocals; Paul Burens on Bass; Beau Cooper on keys and vocals and Bryan Harris on drums.
As the band's fans graduated from college and moved elsewhere, their fanbase grew - both nationally and internationally.
They have opened for big names such as Lynryd Skynrd (of Sweet Home Alabama fame) and Kid Rock, gaining a reputation for sensational performances and powerhouse riffs.
This eight track album put me in a feel-good mood and even my friend, who was in the room when I put the album on, enjoyed it.
I may have been converted to listen to more from The Vegabonds.
