St Peter’s Hill Players returns to Grantham’s Guildhall Arts Centre with I’ll Get My Man - A Farce
An amateur dramatic group has announced its next production.
After the success of emotional drama Bothered and Bewildered, the St Peter’s Hill Players return to Grantham’s Guildhall stage with ‘I’ll Get My Man - A Farce’ from Thursday, May 9, until Saturday, May 11.
The comedy sees TV heartthrob Peter ‘Venture Man’ Graham take refuge in his uncle’s rectory to avoid the advances of the man-eating Pixie Potter, as well as countless other women who are pursuing him.
Peter’s uncle, Reverend Arthur Humphrey, is on the lookout for a wife after his sister Harriete fires their housekeeper, Mrs Carter, who harbours a longing for Peter.
But when the Reverend places an advert in the newspaper, he fails to include the crucial words ‘wife’, or ‘marriage’ and all hell breaks loose in their peaceful village.
Featuring both long-standing members and new faces, I’ll Get My Man promises farcical, cheeky comedy which will have audiences sniggering and chortling in their seats.
