Vale of Belvoir Art Society announces spring exhibition after ‘lovely’ winter event
An art society has announced its next exhibition.
The Vale of Belvoir Art Society (VOBAS) will be hosting its spring exhibition from Saturday, May 4, until Monday, May 6, at the Parish Room, in the Old School, Bottesford, from 10am until 4pm.
There will be arts and crafts on show created by local people and there will also be refreshments on offer.
The society’s last exhibition took place in November last year where it had a “great turnout”.
A spokesperson said: “For the first time we trialled a new initiative where visitors were able to vote for their favourite picture.

“It was lovely that so many of you took part and it was great to know which pictures people liked the most.
“People were heard to be saying ‘can we only choose one?’ or I want to choose more!’ and ‘there are too many beautiful pieces of art to choose from’.
“Fortunately, there was one outstanding winner ‘Border Collie’ by our member Gail which was voted the people's choice this year. Biggest congratulations!
“The new voting system was a success as it made people really stop and take the time to look at each piece of work.
“We will definitely be doing it again in our next art show.”
VOBAS covers many different artistic disciplines, from vibrant watercolour paintings to intricate ceramics and captivating papier-mâché.
Members gain access to its Tuesday evening sessions, but also exclusive perks, workshops and events.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a member can email valeofbelvoirartsociety@gmail.com.
The group meets every Tuesday from 7pm until 9pm at the Fuller Rooms, Grantham Road, Bottesford.
