Tony Christie, Albert Lee and Kate Rusby celebrate their long careers with Newark Palace Theatre concerts




International hit maker Tony Christie returns to Newark Palace Theatre tonight (May 13) performing the many hits from his five-decade career that has seen him perform at arenas and venues around the globe.

His latest tour will see Tony perform all of his greatest hits, including I Did What I Did For Maria, Walk Like A Panther, Las Vegas, Avenues And Alleyways and the number one single (Is This The Way To) Amarillo.

Another act returning to the Palace next week is Albert Lee and his band, who will be at the venue on Wednesday, May 18.

Albert Lee is one of the world’s most respected and renowned guitarists, having worked with The Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris and The Crickets during a long and illustrious career.

The British-born country-rock artist started his career during the emerging rock ‘n’ roll scene of Sixties London, when he swapped bands with the likes of Jimmy Page and Chris Farlowe.

Albert quickly established a reputation as one of the fastest guitar players in the business.

He recorded a number of solo albums, and won a Grammy in 2002 for his contribution on Foggy Mountain Breakdown.

First Lady Of Folk Kate Rusby comes to the Palace on Friday, May 20.

Since bursting on to the scene with a Mercury Music Prize in 1999 she has forged an impressive career.

Her recent reimagined covers album, Hand Me Down, was her highest charting album to date.

This year sees her celebrate 30 years as a professional musician with a new album release, 30: Many Happy Returns.

Audiences will be treated to Kate’s at 30 interpretations of her songs.

As ever, she will be joined on stage by her band, each a virtuoso in their own right, and including her husband and producer Damien O’ Kane.
