The Drifters, Thank Abba For The Music and Newton Faulkner head to Newark Palace Theatre
There is nostalgia galore at Newark’s Palace Theatre over the next few days as the audience are taken back in time with the music of two hit bands from the Sixties and Seventies.
The Drifters are back in town on Wednesday (September 21) performing all their classic hits from across six decades.
They include Saturday Night At The Movies, You’re More Than A Number, Under The Boardwalk and Come On Over To My Place.
Listed among the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, the band’s legacy now continues under the guidance of Tina Treadwell, daughter of founder George.
The hits continue at the Palace on Friday, September 23, with Thank Abba For The Music.
It is described as a two-hour theatre spectacular that captures all of the magic and excitement of one of pop’s most successful bands.
With stunning costumes, a seven-piece live band, interactive video projection and, of course, ABBA’s spectacular trademark harmonies this feel-good party will feature many of Abba’s greatest hits, including Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! Fernando, Super Trouper and many more.
Also at the Palace next week is singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner who will be performing an acoustic set with only his guitar on Thursday, September 22.
Fans can expect to hear the likes of Longshot, Against The Grain and, obviously, Feels Like Home.
