Internet sensation President Obonjo headlines new Bourne comedy night as Rutland promoters Hats Funny launch show at Elsea Park
A new comedy night is set to bring gags and laughter to a town venue - and raise cash for local projects.
Rutland-based Hats Funny Comedy is heading to Bourne for its first-ever show at Elsea Park Community Centre on Saturday, April 20.
The Bourne To Laugh comedy night will be headlined by President Obonjo, a larger-than-life stand-up comedy character who has built up more than 500,000 social media followers.
Now featuring on hit ITV X show ‘Stolen’, the self-appointed dictator of ‘Lafta Republic’, is an African dictator exiled in Britain. Expect high-energy political and personal gags.
Opening the night will be Ben Briggs, a multiple award-winning comedy circuit veteran of 15 years.

There will be two further support acts in Oakham-born comic Katie Brown, who is rising through the comedy ranks, and David Luck, a Northamptonshire-based pun slinger with an alternative style of comedy.
Host for the evening is the award-winning Sarah Johnson who is described as an energetic performer with terrific, bulletproof material.
Tickets are £10, with a proportion going to the Elsea Park Community Trust, a resident-led, not-for-profit organisation. To book your place, visit www.ticketsource.co.uk/hatsfunnycomedy
