Magic Goes Wrong, created in collaboration with Penn and Teller, comes to Nottingham Theatre Royal

World-famous magicians Penn and Teller have collaborated with Olivier Award-winning Mischief theatre company in a stage comedy.

The resulting West End hit, Magic Goes Wrong, is now on a UK tour and will be at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal next week.

Mischief’s biggest and most daring comedy catastrophe to date, Magic Goes Wrong follows a hapless gang of magicians as they stage an evening of grand illusion to raise cash for charity.

As the magic turns to mayhem, accidents spiral out of control and so does their fundraising target.

The show premiered in the West End at the Vaudeville Theatre in December 2019 and then moved to the Apollo Theatre until last month.

It was created in collaboration with American magical double-act Penn and Teller, but they do not appear in the show.

The touring cast for the show is Daniel Anthony (Mickey) Valerie Cutko (Eugenia) Rory Fairbairn (Mind Mangler) Sam Hill (Sophisticato) Kiefer Moriarty (The Blade) Jocelyn Prah (Spitzmaus) and Chloe Tannenbaum (Bar).

Mischief’s other West End successes include The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery, Groan Ups — which was at the Theatre Royal late last year — and Mischief Movie Night.

Magic Goes Wrong is at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal from Tuesday, March 29, to Sunday, April 3, next week.
