Family fun day hopes to raise funds for the next Spalding Flower Parade
A traditional village fete atmosphere is set to be recreated at Ayscoughfee Hall Gardens this weekend.
Take a step back in time at the Spalding Town Fete which will be held on Sunday, August 27 and is set to be filled with fun for the whole family.
It will take place between 11am and 4pm in the hall gardens where visitors can enjoy games such as hoopla, bean bag challenges, coconut shy and more.
There will be lots of entertainment for children on the day such as bouncy castles, Doctor Who and interactive mermaids which will be there to meet and greet and take photos with.
Take advantage of your competitive side and get the whole family involved in the family sports day challenge which will include a range of races to get stuck into.
Organiser Stephen Timewell said: “I’m really excited – it’s going to be great. If you picture the old village fete that used to happen in the 50s and 60s – it’s along those lines. I hope to raise £1000 from this event for next year’s flower parade.”
He added: “Everyone is welcome, the more people the better.”
Visitors can also enjoy some music, craft, charity and food stalls as the event hopes to bring the community together.
Don’t forget to bring your own picnic on the day to enjoy in the hall gardens.
Stephen Timewell has already got some upcoming events planned for later this year in the hope to reach the £50,000 target for next years parade.
Some of these events will include bingo nights, a Christmas fayre and a sponsored walk.
