Former Red Arrows pilot opens his Market Overton garden in Rutland for National Open Garden Scheme
A former Red Arrows pilot used to displaying his aerobatic skills is to showcase his green-fingered prowess at the weekend.
Wing Cdr Andrew Stewart has spent the last 15 years cultivating a wildlife-friendly garden packed full of colour and variety.
On Sunday (June 16), the public can see the fruits of his labour at his Market Overton home as part of the National Open Garden Scheme.
The 1.8-acre garden at 59 Thistleton Road has a large pond, rose pergola, wildflower meadow, woodland walk and large perennial borders bursting with colour.
It will be open from noon until 5pm, with entry priced at £5 and free admission for children. The scheme raises money for nursing and health charities.
Homemade teas will be available at Market Overton Bowls Club, a short walk away in Bowling Green Lane.
