A blooming good event took place in Spalding last weekend
Revellers enjoyed a ‘fabulous day’ at Broad Street Methodist Church’s spring fair on Saturday.
The event, one of the church’s major fundraising dates, saw almost £1,000 added to the coffers.
“It was a fabulous day and wonderful to see so many people from the town have a good time,” said the Rev Luke Smith.
“We had lots and lots of activities. The children did a hunt around the church, and we had children’s crafts as well as raffles and stalls and plant stalls. Everyone had a great time.”
Cash raised from the event will help a number of projects.
“We raised almost £970 for the church funds,” Rev Luke added.
“The church does a lot in the community, our warm space has been operating since the autumn and is still continuing.
“A lot of things are happening, it’s very exciting.”
The event kick started the South Holland Outdoor Festival. See the district council’s website for a list of the events still to come.
