Tickets on sale for fundraising ball to help our young scouts represent Britain in world jamboree
Over the past year it’s been full steam ahead to try to raise enough money to send a group of our very own scouts to the World Scout Jamboree in America.
The youngsters themselves have been doing their own fundraising challenges; there have been bingo nights and race nights and in February, a charity Valentine’s Ball will help raise even more money.
Each of the six scouts needs to raise around £2,500 to be able to attend the Jamboree in West Virginia next summer and represent British scouts.
They are Ellie-Mae, Ben and Dominic from Holbeach, Nikki from 1st Moulton and Whaplode Scouts and Maia and Lucy from Spalding Explorers.
They were specially selected to be part of a 56-strong contingent from Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.
Tickets are now on sale for the charity ball on February 16 at Holbeach Community Centre from 7pm until midnight.
It features live music from The Houndogs, a two-course buffet, a bar, disco and more. There’ll also be wine on the table and a raffle.
- Tickets cost £40 per person. Book on 07990 840375 or email wsj2019@southhollandexplorers.co.uk
