Some of the best singers in the business will be performing songs from West End and Broadway shows at the Guildhall.

And local man Grant Koper is coming back to his home town as executive producer of the show called Some Enchanted Evening which will be staged on March 5.

There will be songs from South Pacific, Oklahoma, Mamma Mia, Wicked, Les Miserables and many more.

The show was first performed in 2013 on a short tour including the Guildhall Arts Centre. After its success around the country, Some Enchanted Evening is embarking on its first national UK tour this spring.

The cast include Hannah Goodwin, Amy Goodwin, Matthew McLoughlin and Ian Curran. All established artists with professional and West End experience.

Grant, the show’s executive producer, grew up in Grantham and has performed with various productions at the Guildhall over the years, including the pantomimes with Douglas Gorrin, and productions with Harrowby Singers.

After leaving school, Grant won a Betty Laine scholarship at Laine Theatre Arts, a world renowned Drama School in London, where he graduated as head boy. During his time there, his father, Victor passed away due to cancer. Grant decided to put a charity concert on at Lincoln Theatre Royal to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The show was a resounding success and raised £2,500.

Grant said: “That was when I first got my taste for producing. I have learned so much since then but I always hold that as my inspiration really. I am delighted to have the opportunity to be bringing my own show to my home town.”

Director, Adam Haigh, says “We have been perfecting the set list to include something for everyone. The cast truly are the most talented professionals we have worked with and the production is to be its best yet.”

Tickets cost £15/£14 and are available from the box office on 01476 406158 or go to www.guildhallartscentre.com
