Hugh Cornwell to perform The Stranglers tracks and new material at Lincoln Engine Shed

Former member of The Stranglers Hugh Cornwell is back on the road, including a date at Lincoln’s Engine Shed on Wednesday (November 16).

The first part of the show will feature his solo songs — including from his latest album, Moments Of Madness.

In the second half there will be a few Stranglers classics, including a few never performed before live.

As main songwriter with The Stranglers, Hugh is responsible for some of the band’s most memorable songs from across ten albums.

Their 1977 debut Rattus Norvegicus featured Peaches, (Get A) Grip, (On Yourself) while the follow-ups were albums No More Heroes, Black and White, The Raven and The Gospel According To The MenInBlack, which Hugh cites as his favourite Stranglers album.

His lyrics to Golden Brown, from the La Folie album, is described as a songwriting masterclass.
