Family movies through the summer
The South Holland Centre summer film guide is out, with movies to take you right through the school holidays to mid-September.
As you might expect, this particular season is full of family films with matinee and evening screenings most days offering lots of choice for families and teens, such as Sherlock Gnomes (U), Jurassic World (12A), Incredibles 2 (PG) and Hotel Transylvania 3 - and remember 2D matinees are still just £5.50.
But look closely and you’ll also find some little gems for those who like a bit of a boogie or sing-song.
Whether or not you saw The Greatest Showman (PG) the first time around, on Friday, July 27 we’ll be screening the sing-along version for one night only, giving you the perfect excuse to belt out all of those catchy songs that most of us have been singing in the shower for weeks.
Talking of catchy songs, the much-anticipated Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again makes a splash on the South Holland big screen with 16 showings from Friday, August 10.
Expect lots of Abba songs segueing cheesily from one storyline to another. Anyway, isn’t half of the fun trying to guess which song is coming next?
And for those who want to keep rockin’ after the film credits have finished rollin’, there is a special launch night Abba-themed disco in our function hall on August 10 with more '70s glam and sparkle than you can twirl a glitter ball at, with bar and dancing through to 11.30pm. Early booking is recommended.
All of the films are listed on our website now or pop in to collect your copy of the film guide.
