Leo Sayer, Some Guys Have All The Luck and Pitmen Poets on the bill at Newark Palace Theatre
Despite five decades in the music industry, Leo Sayer is showing no signs of stopping and is currently on the road with his The Show Must Go On tour, celebrating 50 years in showbusiness.
He brings his high-energy, hit-packed show to Newark’s Palace Theatre on Tuesday (October 18).
Since his first hit in 1973 with The Show Must Go On, he has had much chart success with the likes of Thunder In My Heart, One Man Band, I Can’t Stop Loving You, More Than I Can Say, Have You Ever Been in Love, and the transatlantic number ones, When I Need You and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.
Before that, The Pitmen Poets are at the venue on Friday (October 14) with a night of songs and stories laced with north east humour and humanity.
The group includes Lindisfarne singer and songwriter Billy Mitchell, Warhorse Songman Bob Fox, Master of Tyneside song Benny Graham, and award-winning songwriter Jez Lowe.
Some Guys Have All The Luck — at the venue on Saturday (October 15) — is a celebration of Rod Stewart’s long career.
It includes hits such as Handbags And Gladrags, Maggie May, Baby Jane, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Sailing, Tonight’s The Night, The First Cut Is The Deepest, and You’re In My Heart.
Another tribute show, Buddy Holly and The Cricketers, is at the venue on Thursday, October 20.
It stars some of the finest actor-musicians in the UK whose combined West End credits include Buddy, Lennon, Forbidden Planet and Jailhouse Rock.
They will perform hits such as Oh Boy! Peggy Sue, and Heartbeat.
