Disney On Ice presents 100 Years of Wonder skates into Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham
A breathtaking show celebrating 100 years of Disney provides joy, magic and nostalgia until Sunday.
Disney on Ice, which has entertained the public for over 40 years, presents 100 Years of Wonder at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham until November 12.
Having entered the Arena ready to witness a Disney performance thought to be for children, I had the biggest smile on my face and goosebumps all over my arms.
The skating show got everyone singing and dancing from start to finish as it featured some of the Disney classics.
Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, the Disney on Ice show features some of the fan favourite animated characters such as Frozen's Anna, Elsa and Olaf, Moana and Maui, Mirabel from Encanto, Nemo and Dory and the original classics Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck.
Disney princesses Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Tiana, Mulan, Merida and Rapunzel had their spotlight moment with a theatrical musical with their detailed costumes matching exactly the ones in the movies.
From a moving boat as Moana and Maui sailed on the ice to Rapunzel and Eugene from Tangled spinning around on blonde drapes high up the arena.
With the incredibly talented world-class skaters performing the characters with 250 different outfits and over 180 props, the show was magical and a big must go to.
The characters engaged the audience through intense energetic music and special effects including strobe lights and pyrotechnics.
The excitement was noticeable before the show started as families, both children and adults, made their way to the food and merchandise stalls dressed as their favourite Disney characters.
Each minute of the show was exciting and entertaining as characters and stories were changing and each minute was different from the other.
From the known soundtracks that the audience couldn’t help but sing along to the admirable costumes and talented performers.
Motorpoint Arena is also offering a Special Arena Hospitality experience with two packages of choice.
It includes access to the brand new lounge and bar, The Green Room, with a welcome drink, seats in a prime location, plus pre-event breakfast or afternoon tea.
The hospitality package adds to the positive experience of the show, besides the homely and nostalgic experience of the show, having someone available to look after you, be it food or drinks is certainly a good decision.
A thank you goes to employee Lily Albone who was incredibly helpful and caring throughout the whole evening.
Perfect for all Disney lovers, be they toddlers to elders, Disney on Ice has enough fairy dust to make the audience sing and dance along for the entire performance. – MT
