OCEAN’S 8 (12A) SHOWCASE CINEMA DE LUX PETERBOROUGH, FROM MONDAY
This female-dominated spin-off of The Ocean’s Trilogy sees Danny Ocean’s estranged sister Debbie (Sandra Bullock) attempt to pull off the ultimate heist at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala – by prizing an invaluable necklace from Anne Hathaway’s elite celebrity. But she must assemble the perfect crew to undertake the near-impossible theft – which includes the likes of Oscar winner Cate Blanchett (Aviator), Helen Bonham Carter (The Harry Potter Series), Mindy Kaling (A Wrinkle in Time) and pop songstress Rihanna (Battleship). The Hunger Games director Gary Ross helms this action-comedy-crime caper, which undoubtedly intends to add two more sequels to take us right up to Ocean’s Eleven, with Nine and Ten . . .
HEREDITARY (15) SHOWCASE CINEMA DE LUX PETERBOROUGH, FROM TOMORROW
When the matriarch of the Graham family passes away, her daughter’s family – including The Sixth Sense’s Toni Collette, Alex Wolff (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) and Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects) – begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. But the more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited, in this well-reviewed supernatural horror.
I FEEL PRETTY (12A) SOUTH HOLLAND CENTRE SPALDING, FROM TUESDAY
American comedy sensation Amy Schumer (Trainwreck) stars as a woman struggling with insecurity issues – who wakes from an accident believing she’s the most beautiful and capable woman in the world. Her new confidence empowers her to live fearlessly – but what happens when she realises her appearance never changed? Brokeback Mountain’s Michelle Williams co-stars.
SUPER TROOPERS 2 (15) SHOWCASE CINEMA DE LUX PETERBOROUGH, FROM TOMORROW
This ‘crowd-funded’ sequel to anarchic cult comedy Super Troopers has now brought its zany brand of humour to this side of the pond. Jay Chandrasekhar is back to write and direct this follow-up to the 2001 original – which stars Seann William Scott (American Pie) in which the troopers are tasked with establishing a new Highway Patrol station after a border dispute between US and Canada.

This second standalone ‘Star Wars Story’ is a prequel to the original trilogy – by chronicling the escapades of a younger Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich). During an adventure into a dark criminal underworld, Solo meets his equally infamous future co-pilot Chewbacca, and encounters Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) years before joining the Rebellion – with Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke joining the ride.
JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM (12A) FROM JULY 23
After the demise of the Jurassic World theme park on Isla Nublar – where the dinosaurs have roamed freely on the island for three years – an impending volcanic eruption threatens their very existence. This brings Chris Pratt’s Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire roaring back into action to save some of the prehistoric creatures – but instead they uncover a conspiracy that could disrupt the natural order of the entire planet.
BOOK CLUB (12A) FROM JUNE 24
Four lifelong friends – played by Oscar winners Diane Keaton (Annie Hall) and Jane Fonda (Klute) and Mary Steenburgen (Back to the Future III), and Oscar-nominee Candice Bergen (TV series Murphy Brown) – have their lives changed forever after reading EL James’ 50 Shades of Grey at their monthly book club. Andy Garcia (The Untouchables) and Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws) co-star in this feel-good comedy.
