New York deli style food for Stamford
Stamford is to get its own take on New York deli-style sandwiches when a new independent outlet opens later this month.
Interestingly called Bread Meat Cheese, the venture in Red Lion Street will be producing “artisan hand-held food” .
A spokesperson said: “The simple idea is to create street-stall inspired sandwiches of a kind not found in any supermarket or chain outlet, all produced on site.”
Bread Meat Cheese promises to be a welcome addition to Stamford’s daytime offerings, open early to catch people on their way to work and of course throughout lunchtime.
Sandwiches such as Divine Swine, the company’s signature Porchetta in a local bakery’s baguette served with salsa verde (pictured)will feature on a regularly evolving menu all of which will be available online.
Twitter followers of @breadmeatcheese will also be privy to a “secret menu”, sandwiches from under the counter!
The new venture stressed the importance it places on working with local suppliers and producers:
“So many talk about provenance, but we will actively publicise where our ingredients are sourced; for example our meat suppliers are Groovy Foods of Bourne and Crowtree Farm at Thorney, cheese and all bread products are procured locally too.”
The exact date of opening will be announced on www.breadmeatcheese.co.uk in due course.
