Celebrate the coronation at these events in Spalding, Holbeach, Long Sutton and South Holland area over the bank holiday weekend




We have compiled a list of local coronation celebrations to enjoy over the weekend.

There will definitely be something for the whole family to get involved in over this bank holiday weekend. See below for all the details…

*In Long Sutton enjoy the fairground rides, food stalls, lighting of the beacon, a fireworks display and more.

The event will be running on Friday, May 5 at Winfrey Park between 7pm ad 9pm.

It is organised by Long Sutton Parish Council who welcome everyone to attend.

On Sunday, May 6 the fun will continue with a dog show, variety of craft stalls, vintage vehicles, old fashioned games and more.

*A tractor, lorry and motorcycle road run will take place in Long Sutton for the King’s coronation on Saturday, May 6.

Visitors should meet at 9.30am at Nene Transport Yard, with the road run departing at 10am.

The route will go through the village and finish at Sutton Bridge Memorial Park.

Make sure to decorate your vehicle in the best way possible as the best dressed vehicles will win prizes.

Entry fee is £10 and all proceeds will be going towards the Air Ambulance.

*There will be lots of activities to celebrate the coronation on Saturday, May 6 in the Memorial Park, Sutton Bridge.

The event will run from 12 noon until late.

Some of the activities will include a car boot, a range of hot food, celebratory beacon and bag pipes, archery and lots more.

There will also be a fireworks display starting at 9pm.

*Tydd St Mary will be having a Coronation Party on Friday, May 5 between 2pm and 4pm.

It will be taking place at the Drop In Centre in Tydd St Mary’s Village Hall.

*Don't miss out on Holbeach’s family fun day event to celebrate King Charles III coronation.

It will be held at Carter’s Park between noon and 4pm on Sunday, May 7.

The jam packed celebrations will include fairground rides and inflatable's, food and drink, dog show, wheelbarrow race, cheesecake challenge and music from the Holbeach town band.

Put yourself to the test in the wheelbarrow race by filling out the entry form, which can be found on the Holbeach Parish Council Facebook page.

It will cost £2 to enter, with adults and children allowed to take part.

The dog show will include categories such as best rescue, waggiest tail, cutest puppies and lots more.

Judging will commence at 12.30pm and will cost £1.50 per class.

*The Holbeach Community Cafe will be having a ‘special’ celebration for the Kings coronation on Monday, May 8.

It will be taking place at the Reading Rooms, Church Street at 11.30am for 12 noon.

Take part in the raffle, royal quiz and enjoy all of the entertainment.

Don’t forget to get dressed up for the best dressed King, Queen and best decorated crown competition.

Tickets for the event will cost £5.50 including lunch, with all proceeds going towards supporting the work of the Community Cafe.

*Holbeach St Marks will be holding celebrations on Saturday, May 6 and Monday, May 8.

The lighting of the Beacon will be lit at 9pm on the Saturday.

On Monday the flower festival will also take place at the church from 10am to 4pm.

Make sure to visit the church yard as it will be lit up with red, white and blue all weekend.

*Don't miss out on the coronation celebrations set to take place in Spalding over the weekend.

Dotted around the town will be eight images of Charles III looking out of shop windows.

Make sure to fill in an answer sheet with the name of the shop next to the corresponding number.

Participants will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three prizes.

Spalding Town Centre will be filled with stilt walkers, throne selfie station, big screen tv and more on Saturday, May 6.

The town celebrations will run from 10am to 3pm.

Celebrations will continue at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens in their Coronation Picnic event.

The picnic will take place on Sunday. May 7 from 11am to 2pm.

Bring your own food and enjoy the gardens landscapes along with some free activities and entertainment.

Some of these include royal themed craft making workshops, comedy maypole, fancy dress competition, face painting, balloon modeling and much more.

*Enjoy a celebratory coronation lunch at Spalding Reformed Church on Sunday, May 7.

The event will run from 12.30pm and will include an afternoon tea style lunch in the Church Hall.

*In Fleet the Community Responders and Junior Responders have organised a range of activities.

Head over to The Pavilion End of The Playing Field between 1pm and 4pm on Monday, May 8.

Enjoy some food, sports, VIP guests, a raffle and more.

Don’t forget to go dressed in a coronation theme and bring your own picnic.

*Gedney Drove End will be having a yard sale, cake stalls and scarecrow competition on Sunday, May 7.

The activities will be running from 10am to 2pm.

All of the entrance money will be going towards Air Ambulance.

*There will be a Coronation Ball in Quadring on Sunday, May 7.

The event will be held at St Margaret Hall and will include live music from Zebra Band UK.

It will start at 7.30pm until late.

Tickets are £20 and includes a fish and chip supper.

Make sure to bring your own drinks, nibbles and puds.

There are 20 tickets left for the ball so make sure to book your place by calling or texting Liz on 07400 589555.

*A big screen of the coronation will be streaming in Whaplode Drove on Saturday, May 6.

The screen will be located at The Elizabethan Centre from 10am.

From 12 noon there will be stalls, face painting, coronation themed fancy dress competition, a raffle, bbq and live music from 7pm.

Don’t forget to bring your coronation themed bakes to the Bake off tent by 2pm for display before judging commences at 5pm.

There will be prizes for adults and children who take part.

*Take a trip to Moulton for their coronation lantern parade which is taking place on Saturday, May 6.

Meet at the Moulton Mill at 7pm and leave with the parade at 7.30pm.

Bring your own lanterns and enjoy the celebration with hot dogs at the community centre.

The evening event will conclude with the Beacon being lit at 9.15pm.

There will also be a coronation picnic at Moulton Harrox Field on Sunday, May 7.

Enjoy the games, live music by singer Antoine Fleuriot, craft stalls and more between 1pm and 5pm.

No pets are allowed at the event.

*Head on over to Cowbit for their coronation celebrations on Sunday, May 7.

A punt gun salute will take place at 11am on the Cowbit Playing Field.

From 1pm visitors can enjoy an Adele tribute act, beer tent, refreshments and music, a dog show and fireworks.

*Celebrate in style at Pinchbeck Church Hall on Monday, May 8.

Enjoy the prosecco, coronation cake, soft drinks, biscuits and crisps on arrival from 7.30pm.

A toast to King Charles III will be made at 8.15pm before everyone will make their way to the beacon at 8.45pm.

Following the lighting of the beacon at 9pm there will be a pearl of the bells, a short prayer and national anthem.

Pavanotti will also be there on the night to celebrate.

*In West Pinchbeck there will be more celebrations taking place on Friday, May 5.

Visit St Bartholomews Primary School from 3pm until late for food, games, a licensed bar, hook a duck and much more.
