St Wulfram’s Christmas Tree Festival returning to Grantham for sixth time with skating rink

A popular Christmas tree festival returns to Grantham this year along with a skating rink.

The sixth St Wulfram’s Christmas Tree Festival will be held later this year between Tuesday November 28 and Sunday December 3.

A skating rink will also return to the church to accompany the festival.

Father Stuart Cradduck, rector of St Wulfram’s, said: “I know it’s ridiculous to start thinking about Christmas in early September, but we wanted to give you a ‘heads up’ about the return of our hugely successful Christmas Tree Festival this year.

“In the last festival there were well over 130 trees and there is always room for more.

“The last festival was over four days and we welcomed thousands of visitors. The event was yet again covered by the media, locally, nationally, and internationally, and truly put St Wulfram’s and Grantham on the map.”

There is no charge to take part, but donations of £10 to £20 per tree from local businesses is welcomed by the church.

Any group, school, business or individual that wishes to take part needs to register their interest by Friday November 24.

Fr Stuart added: “We are delighted to that the skating rink is of course coming back and will be fantastic fun as always!

“We are determined to continue to make St Wulfram’s an important part of our town. We want to give the opportunity for people to engage with each other in this significant building in Grantham and celebrate all that is good, enabling us to come together as a community.

“If you or your business / organisation would consider helping sponsor this event I would be hugely grateful. The costs of putting on a festival of this size and complexity are significant!”

The skating rink will be available for schools and nurseries or private bookings from the Wednesday to Friday of the festival during the day time.
