The Black Blues Brothers bring show to Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, after success at Edinburgh Fringe Festival

After a sell-out, five-star run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, extra dates have been added to the UK tour of The Black Blues Brothers, including one in Nottingham.

The Kenyan acrobats bring their spell-binding show — an acrobatic tribute to the legendary cult movie The Blues Brothers — to the Royal Concert Hall on Friday, September 2.

Set in a nightclub, reminiscent of the Cotton Club, a vintage radio blasts out nostalgic Eighties hits from the film’s iconic score, including Gimme Some Lovin’, Sweet Home Chicago and Soul Man.

As the barman and waiters transform into performers, the acrobats perform jaw-dropping balancing acts, high-octane drumming, a fire-laced limbo routine and extraordinary human pyramids.

Using every chair, table and coat rack available, The Black Blues Brothers brings together contemporary circus and musical comedy in a night out for all the family.

The troupe of acrobats have dazzled audiences around the world, performing for Pope Francis at the Vatican and the British royal family at the Royal Variety Show.

They trained at the Sarakasi Trust in Nairobi, a trust that teaches acrobatics and dance to the youth in Nairobi and surrounding areas.

Also heading to the Royal Concert Hall this week is The Official RuPaul’s Drag Race UK: Series Three Tour on Sunday (September 4).

All 12 queens from series three will be on stage, including the finalists Kitty Scott-Claus, Krystal Versace, Vanity Milan and Ella Vaday.

On Monday, September 5, singer and actor David Essex will be at the venue performing his classic hits, including Rock On, Lamplight, Hold Me Close and Gonna Make You A Star.
