Doors open for the Lincolnshire Daffodil Society's 110th Spring Flower and Garden Show in Spalding this weekend
The Lincolnshire Daffodil Society holds its 110th annual competition show at Springfields Events and Conference Centre in Spalding this Saturday and Sunday (April 13 and 14).
And besides the beautiful flowers on display, Spalding Arts and Crafts Society is hosting an exhibition of paintings inside the centre.
People can vote for their favourite painting and there’s a raffle (at £1 per ticket) where you can win a still life oil painting entitled ‘Tulips’ by Jerome Hunt.
Also at this year’s flower and garden show are classes for tulips, herbaceous plants, flowering shrubs and pot plants; and school entries. Superflora has sponsored the school competition again this year.
Plants, flowers and garden sundries will be on sale, plus there are art and craft exhibitors.
Educational workshops will be run by photographer Clive Stephens, fabric art by Marie Maidment, fabric mosaic art by Robert Deaton and Chain Bridge Forge presents 3D pen daffodil art.
Presentation of the prize cups is on Saturday at 1.30pm.
Admission to the show is £1 per person (under 16s free) and it’s open from 10am until 4pm both days.
