Beatles tribute and cricket broadcaster Jonathan Agnew are among those taking the stage at Grantham’s Guildhall in September
A wide range of performers, including a Beatles tribute act and cricket broadcasting legend, will take to the stage at the Guildhall and other Grantham venues next month.
The Guildhall in St Peter’s Hill will host a variety of events throughout September.
First up is ‘Hey Beatles: Live!’, who return to the Guildhall Theatre on Saturday September 2 from 7.30pm.
The “nationally acclaimed” tribute act will play plenty of the band’s greatest hits. Tickets are £16 (£12 for concessions).
On the following Friday (September 8), the theatre will host ‘Revisiting Amy - An Evening of Amy Winehouse with Hattie Johnson’.
Billed as “an unparalleled live experience that honours the talent of Amy Winehouse”, the event starts from 7pm, with tickets priced at £16.99.
On September 9, Made In The 80s will take to the stage as part of their ‘Glitz and Glamour’ tour.
The group will recreate hits by Cher, Madonna, Depeche Mode and many more stars of the 80s.
The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £17.
‘The Forbidden - Circus Of Men’ will be held at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre on September 15 from 7.30pm.
The show is described as “perfect for Hen nights, birthday parties or just because” and “jam- packed with variety”.
Tickets are available from £25.50 and the show is for over 16s only.
At the Guildhall Theatre on September 15 and 16 is ‘A Matter of Time’ from Grantham-based Chantry Dance.
The show is described as “a mesmerising triple bill exploring our relationship with time created by award-winning producers and choreographers Rae Piper and Paul Chantry”.
Tickets are £17 (£14 for concessions) and the show starts at 7.30pm each night.
An evening with cricket broadcasting legend, Jonathan Agnew, will be held in the Guildhall Theatre on September 21 from 7.30pm.
Join Aggers as he recounts wonderful tales from “a highly entertaining career on the field and in the box”.
Tickets are £25 (£23 for concessions) and the show will have film footage, audio clips and photographs on the big screen.
A Flock of Seagulls will take to the Guildhall Theatre stage the following evening (September 22) from 7.30pm.
The five-piece band was started by Mike Score and his brother Ali in 1979 in Liverpool, and are known for hits such as Space Age Love Song, Telecommunication and Modern Love is Automatic.
Tickets are £23.
On Tuesday September 26, Eric Chappell’s final play ‘Ground Rules’ will be performed in the Guildhall Theatre.
The writer, who created sitcoms such as Rising Damp and Duty Free, sadly passed away in 2022.
The Crime And Comedy Theatre Company are behind the production, which starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17 (£15 for concessions).
On Wednesday, September 27, Braimah Kanneh-Mason will perform on violin and Junyan Chen will play the piano at Christchurch in Finkin Street.
Tickets are £15 (free for students) and the concert starts at 7.30pm.
On September 28 and 29, the Splash Test Dummies will perform at the Guildhall Theatre.
The show is a mix of stunt work, “dazzling” acrobatics, “dexterous” juggling and “side-splitting” slapstick comedy.
The Thursday performance begins at 6pm, while the Friday performance is at 10.30am and is for school parties.

Also on September 28 is the latest Funhouse Comedy night in the Guildhall Arts Centre Ballroom.
Topping the bill is Josh Pugh, seen on Mock The Week and other TV shows. Also performing is Andrew Bird, Ronnie Golden, Stephen Catling and compere Spiky Mike.
Tickets are £14 and the show starts at 8pm.
Rounding off September is ‘Calling Planet Earth’, billed as “a new romantic symphony that goes on a journey through one of the greatest musical eras of all time - the electrifying 80s”.
The show is on September 30 from 8pm and features songs by Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and The Human League.
Tickets are £25 and the doors open from 7pm.
