Chamber orchestra Britten Sinfonia and renowned tenor Mark Padmore perform at Crowland Abbey
From classical concerts to various educative projects, chamber orchestra Britten Sinfonia, and internationally renowned tenor, Mark Padmore, are pleased to announce their new project focusing on delivering top-quality music to Lincolnshire, writes Patrick Walsh.
After careers in concert, recital and even opera, Padmore is working to bring more music to Lincolnshire through a number of concerts, some including guest artists such as pianist Andrew West and guitarist Morgan Szymanski.
Along with Padmore, the orchestra will be performing at Crowland Abbey to celebrate 500 years of music - which will be recorded for future broadcast by BBC Radio 3.
Szymanski will be performing at Crowland along with Martin Owen playing the horn, with a combination of pieces from Hungarian composer Bartók and English composer Alec Roth.
The concert is at Crowland Abbey on Sunday, November 25, at 6pm.
Tickets must be bought in advance.
They cost £12, and under 16s go free; available from Bridge Hardware and the Abbey or via www.crowlandabbey.org.uk
