Enjoy a visit to Holbeach as they present their popular medieval festival
Take a journey back in time to medieval England at this upcoming district event.
The Holbeach Medieval Festival will be back for another year with some brand new attractions.
It will be taking place on Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2, at Carter’s Park, Holbeach.
One of the new attractions will include a falcon display.
It will include an educational and fun flying demonstration and presentation delivered by the Suffolk Falconry Display team.
Some of their previous displays have taken place at Dover Castle, Windsor Castle, Alnwick Castle and many more.
Albearto the Dancing Bear will be returning to the festival and he was a popular feature in last year’s event.
Another popular entertainer to return will be the world’s finest medieval jester.
Devilstick Peat Fibbs will be wandering around the park and town centre showing off his magic, fire performances, juggling skills, story telling and much more.
The Holbeach Medieval Festival will also feature ‘The Knights of Skirbeck’, The Spalding Flower Dragon, ‘The King’s Executioner’ and many more.
Visitors can expect the event to bring living history encampments, sideshows, and even a historical kitchen to the town.
Take in music by the minstrel band, A Merry Noyse who will be wandering the town spreading some uplifting, cheerful and lively entertainment.
The event is funded by Holbeach Moving Forward CIC and supported by the town and South Holland District Council.
Event organiser Tracey Carter said: “It is bigger and better than last year.
“We have more stall holders this time as all the other traders had a good time.”
The medieval festival will be open from 10am and is completely free to attend.
