Author Helen Claire Gould presents writing workshops in Long Sutton
Ever wanted to write your own story or publish your own book but don’t know where to begin?
Helen Claire Gould, author of ‘Floodtide’,’The Stallion’ and ‘She...’, is holding a number of creative writing workshops focussing on helping budding writers get their work out there, writes Patrick Walsh.
The workshops, which have also been held at Spalding Library, run monthly at Long Sutton Library and aim to teach writers aged 16 and over about different aspects of the writing industry.
The latest will discuss the use of dialogue in fiction, helping budding writers get the most out of speech in their books.
It’s one in a series of 16 lessons - ten on writing and six on self-publishing and includes a presentation with handouts and assignments to help learners practice at home.
Helen said: “I want people to go home at the end feeling they’ve learned something that they can put into practice in their own writing.”
The next workshop is on Monday, October 29, at 3.15-5.45pm. Each lesson costs £10 and learners can pay on the day. Places can be booked through Long Sutton Library in Trafalgar Square, by calling 01522 782010 or via email: longsutton.library@gll.org
