Discover a lost Lincs village
Fancy getting to grips with some cutting edge archaeological techniques on a lost medieval village?
Aimed at 18- to 24-year-olds, the weekend is organised by Heritage Lincolnshire and involves unlocking the secrets of the historic Lincs landscape.
Participants will stay at Brook House Barn in Scamblesby, near Louth, and work at the lost village of South Ormsby.
There will be an introductory session on Friday August 31, followed by a walk through the local landscape and a stop at the local pub before a night at the barn, ready for investigations the following day.
Techniques such as drone phoography, 3D modelling and geophysics will be used to re-discover the lost highways and properties.
There will be celebrations in the evening, then a tree-top adventure at Wild Pines Park on Sunday.
The course costs £150, but a number of bursaries are available. For further information, email layers@heritagelincolnshire.org
