Friday, October 7

  • Book launch - 10am till 2pm, the Studio at Gallery Stamford, Maiden Lane. Tea, sticky buns, bunting and bubbly.

  • Fighting Cocks beer festival, Corby Glen - as part of Corby Glen sheep fair celebrations.
  • Oakham Liberal Democrat Councillors surgery - 10.30am to 11.30am, Whipper Inn, Oakham. Paul Browne, Ray Payne and Joanna Burrows, for Oakham South will be there to chat to residents.
  • Szilvia Ponyiczki - Half Broken Hopes exhibition at Willoughby Memorial Trust Gallery in Corby Glen, 12pm to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Painting and sculpture. Admission free (until Wednesday, October 26).
  • Welland Valley Arts Society Autumn Exhibition - 10am to 5pm, Stamford Arts Centre. Runs until Saturday, Oct 15 (but excluding Sunday, October 9). Entry free.

  • The Undefined - Fighting Cocks Beer Festival as part of Corby Glen sheep fair celebrations.

Sunday, October 9

  • Annual apple day - midday to 4pm, Community Orchard, off Beech Avenue, Bourne. Apples and pears, apple juice, refreshments and homemade cake. People are encouraged to bring their own mug to reduce disposable items usage. Children’s activities and plant stall.
  • Corby Glen sheep fair - 10am to 4pm. Stalls in the Market Place, Station Road, Church Street and in the school hall, as well as food stalls and raffle. Fun dog show, school field from 10.30am, and entertainment on the main stage. Classic cars on the village green. Sheep fair chilli challenge at 4pm. Nicky Downs performs afterwards at the Fighting Cocks Beer Festival.

Monday, October 10

  • Corby Glen Sheep Auction - as part of the Corby Glen Sheep Fair celebrations.
  • Run Lab with Dai Green - 6pm to 7pm, Equilibrium Gym, Pit Lane, Ketton. www.equilibrium.fit/workshops/
  • Flower arranging demonstration - Stamford Flower Club, Barn Hill Methodist Church, Stamford, PE9 2AE. Doors open 6pm for 7pm start. Enjoy local demonstrator Jackie West creating five large floral arrangements on the theme ‘Memories Past and Present’ whilst sharing tips and anecdotes. All arrangements raffled.   • Bridge day class - 9.30am, Stamford Bridge Club, Exeter Gardens, Stamford. Start of 10 week course with follow up transition and supervised play sessions. £65.
