Ido Graf's 'riproaring' novel See Glass reviewed... and 10 copies to give away!
If ever a novel was ready to be made into a feature film it is this one – action, thrills, historical intrigue and romance, it has all the ingredients for the big screen.
You know the kind of film I mean? The type with an unbelievable but tremendously enjoyable plot, the ones that usually star Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson or any younger substitute.
Ido Graf’s first book grabs you from the very start as its clever prologue leads into 400 pages of riproaring adventure, the mostly short chapters – think James Patterson – meaning you often read for that little bit longer before turning out the bedroom light as you’re gripped by the action.
The fast-paced story revolves around our hero Adam and the beautiful Rebecca as they race across Europe in a fight to find lost treasure and prevent a sinister worldwide network from forming the Nazis’ Fourth Reich.
But they’re not alone, hunted, chased and observed by English thugs, German spies and Jewish peacemakers in a classic Good vs Evil race against time thriller.
Our hero is a swashbuckling James Bond meets John Wick, our heroine a Lily James-type gorgeous damsel in distress and the story romps along at 100-miles-an hour.
Okay, the bad guys are rather stereotyped, but there’s plenty of excitement and it’s a hard book to put down once you’ve started.
A bit like one of those films I mentioned earlier... tremendous fun while you’re watching it but not something that will stick in the mind for days afterwards. And there’s no harm in that.
Buy it and take it on this summer’s staycation.
