Win tickets to St Nicolas Players comedy at Spalding's South Holland Centre
Theatre fans will be given a real treat next week when St Nicolas Players brings a terrific comedy to the stage.
The Players will be putting a series of performances of the play by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman – and we have three pairs of tickets to give away in our competition.
A Bunch of Amateurs follows fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele, played by Adam Patman.
In an attempt to boost his flagging career he arrives in England to play King Lear in Stratford. But it isn’t the birthplace of the Bard... just a sleepy Suffolk village!
And instead of Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench, the cast are a bunch of amateurs trying to save their theatre.
Jefferson’s monstrous ego, vanity and insecurity are tested to the limit by the enthusiastic am-dram thespians.
As acting worlds collide and Jefferson’s career implodes, he discovers some truths about himself – along with his inner Lear!
This comic romp, where American realism meets English mellifluence, is directed by Jules Jones and produced by Joanna Hobbs.
Performances take place at Spalding’s South Holland Centre from Wednesday, March 16, through to Saturday 19. Doors open 7pm. Tickets are available now
